Recommended Sites

There are a lot of websites out there with bogus, misleading and/or conflicting information. (Especially as it concerns "Survival Seed Banks" and "Emergency Seed Kits.") But here are some great sites that we have found to be reliable, and that will address many of the issues and questions you'll face as you begin your home garden.

  • Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
Up-to-date horticultural information and best practices designed specifically for the home gardener and homesteader.

  • Gardenline
A wealth of information from Randy Lemmon, Houston gardener extraordinaire and host of KTRH's Gardenline radio program. And Randy's very responsive to questions submitted by email!

  • Seed Savers Exchange
This is a well-respected, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and disseminating heirloom seed, and there are hundreds of plant varieties on their website (both ornamental and edible). The prices aren't cheap; indeed, assembling one of our seed banks from this website would cost you 3-4 times more than what we charge. But if you are looking for a particular open-pollinated variety not included in your Liberty Seed Bank, this is the place to go.
